The Opportunity

​

As a key member of the product development team, reporting to the Head of Product, your contributions will be key towards evolving product strategy and enhancing user experience in line with business objectives. Through the implementation of user-centred research and design practices, you will contribute to identifying strategic insights and defining which customer problems to prioritize and how best to solve these problems.​

You’re passionate about building digital experiences and promoting human-centred design which will help you establish robust research and design processes. You have incredible knowledge and experience behind you and are able to present a portfolio or samples of work demonstrating relevant experience.

 

In this role, you should be an analytical and creative designer who is able to grasp user needs and solve problems. You have experience working within agile teams and an expert in applying best-practice methodologies. You are someone who thrives on new challenges and gains genuine enjoyment from delighting customers. You have exceptional communication skills and are willing to have open, respectful and collaborative discussions across all business functions.

Responsibilities

​

  • Champion and embed a user-centric research and design process within the business.

  • Conduct research and customer development activities to identify strategic insights and market opportunities.

  • Applying UX tools such as Personas and User Journeys to communicate and establish a common understanding of the user context within the business.

  • Gather user feedback through analytics, surveys and interviews to identify user experience gaps and potential opportunities.

  • Identify experience gaps & opportunities within the existing product through heuristic reviews and benchmarking results against best practice.

  • Collaborate with Product Managers on creating intuitive, user-friendly experiences through the use of UX tools such as scenarios, user flows and information architecture.

  • Support product discovery and validation through designing and building clickable prototypes to communicate potential solutions to customers.

  • Enable a rapid delivery cadence through wireframes, component libraries and design assets.

Requirements

 

  • 3 years+ as a UX Designer on a digital product.

  • Strong portfolio of design projects.

  • Demonstrate application of HCD methodologies in solving real world problems.

  • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture.

  • Experience interpreting and making design decisions based on analytics. (e.g. Google Analytics)

  • Develop UI mock-ups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how design should function (e.g.Figma)

  • Experience with mobile-first responsive design.

  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

  • Accredited qualification in Research and/or User Experience.
